Fabian Dornhecker successfully completed his Bachelor's degree in Communication Design at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden in 2017 and has been with us since March 2018. He mainly works on projects in the areas of branding, editorial and digital design and it is only thanks to his skills that we have our own house font! With unwavering calm, he also ensures that IT runs smoothly. He puts the rest of his creative energy into the font foundry laboldevita, which specializes in expressive display fonts.
Why did you become a designer?
Originally out of a lack of alternatives and a tendency towards creative work. During my studies, I realized that developing systems and structuring content combines meaning and fun for me. So ideally, as a designer, I can do important tasks instead of just making things pretty and still do a job that I don't completely hate ;)
Why do you work at ungestalt?
I started here as an intern and learned to appreciate the open and non-hierarchical working environment in contrast to large agency complexes. Thanks to the relatively small team and no rigid division of labor, I have plenty of opportunities to help shape things.
