With a length of around 700 kilometers and an investment sum of ten billion euros, SuedLink is a central infrastructure project of the energy transition in Germany. The Elbe crossing near Wewelsfleth is an essential component of this. We are supporting the implementation of an educational trail and an orientation system.
The educational trail provides information about the project and offers several interactive elements that provide information on the topic of energy generation. The design planning we were given envisaged seven stations and sign stands. We are responsible for the implementation planning and production as well as the installation on site.
In collaboration with the design planners, we go through the concept and develop a technically clean and user-friendly implementation plan. As usual, we particularly enjoy the analog play elements and an interactive crank station. Here, users can learn for themselves how much muscle power electronic devices need to recharge.
ElbX brings a breath of fresh air to our previous experience in designing nature trails. The sober technical look of the designers should be reflected in the construction method and materiality. Our planning must ensure stations that can withstand the wind loads in the Elbe estuary catchment area. We get to know the safety-related framework conditions of a major European construction site and install the information steles and elements in accordance with the specifications.
