Creating safe living spaces! The joint project SieWo – Sie wohnt gewaltfrei (She lives without violence) by HTWK Leipzig and Zusammen e.V. provides safe living spaces for women affected by domestic violence. We are developing the corporate design and handling the communication campaign.
Leipzig is facing an urgent problem: after staying in a women's shelter, many women lack access to safe and affordable housing. The joint model project SieWo, run by HTWK Leipzig and Zusammen e.V., addresses precisely this issue: by establishing a professional housing agency, SieWo supports victims of domestic violence in making a new start while also relieving the burden on landlords. We were commissioned to develop a communication campaign with a corporate design that builds trust, breaks down reservations and motivates landlords to get in touch. We also manage the website and design project flyers, pitch decks and merchandise.
At the start of the project, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the interests and objections of the parties involved. To do this, we talk to various landlords and similar project developers. Based on these discussions, we develop a communication strategy that forms the basis for the corporate design and tone of voice. In addition to the website, we develop print products and a structured acquisition strategy that enables us to identify and contact landlords and convince them of SieWo's merits in face-to-face meetings. The corporate design and logo combine professional clarity with a warm, accessible expression. In the imagery, we deliberately avoid depicting violence and distress. Instead, we focus on calmness and perspective. The design creates an environment that conveys trust and at the same time sensitively conveys the complex subject matter.
A special feature of this project is the many different stakeholders that need to be taken into account in our work. Here, it is important to find a clear course of action and to implement it. Since the project also deals with a very sensitive topic, it is important to use language that neither glosses over nor overdramatises the issue, but rather builds trust. Especially in a city like Leipzig, where affordable housing is becoming increasingly scarce, it is important to show landlords the concrete benefits. We therefore translate the social impact of the project into concrete benefits.
